You hand it a file that will not open any more: it works out the format, finds the damage and gives you back a repaired copy. The original is never touched.
What it does
Office documents
DOCX, XLSX and PPTX files that Word or Excel refuse to open: it rebuilds the internal index and the damaged parts.
PDF
It regenerates the xref table and the trailer, the most common fault behind a PDF that «will not open».
JPEG and PNG photos
It repairs the header and recovers the image up to the break. If that is not enough, it falls back on the internal preview.
ZIP archives
It rebuilds the archive index and pulls out, one by one, the files that are still readable.
It recognises the real format
It looks at the first bytes of the file, not the extension: it works even if the name is wrong or the extension has been lost.
It tells you how much it recovered
It actually reopens the repaired file to check it, and shows you a before/after report. A partial recovery counts too: «12 images out of 15».
The original is never touched
Fenice works on a copy. The starting file stays where it is, as it is: if the repair fails, you have lost nothing.

After the first five files, you pay per repair
No subscription: you buy repairs and use them when you need them. One repair is one file, and they never expire.
You pay once, so there is nothing to cancel. The key arrives by email, works on all your computers and the repairs never expire. Already have a key? Activate it inside the app, under Settings → Repairs.
